Seoul, Korea, 28 March, 2019

Their Majesties the King and Queen of the Belgians embarked on March 25 for a four-day state visit to South Korea. A major delegation of high officials, CEO’s, academia representatives and media travelled along too. Univercells’ CEO, Hugues Bultot, had the honor to represent us and joined this strong delegation of over 200 people. The Belgian royals and delegation visited Seoul at the invitation of the President of South Korea, Moon Jae-in.

During the state visit, Hugues Bultot participated in distinguished networking activities, debates and seminars and presented Univercells’ ambition to address global health challenges by making biologics available and affordable to all. Besides displaying successful Belgo-Korean partnerships, these high-level events also opened for future collaborations in the healthcare industry between both countries.

Meeting with local investor

In parallel, Univercells also met with its local investor Korea Investment Partners, a leading venture capital firm in Asia. The promising collaboration between Univercells and Korean investor started in July 2018, following the successful Series B equity funding led by Global Health Investment Fund.

It was an honour to attend such a distinguished event and connect with Korean innovation leaders. Univercells hopes to continually forge promising collaborations to achieve its global mission of making biologics available to all.
